Spotlight on Chad Parks | President & CEO

Favorite Food

Indian — particularly Chicken Tikka Masala, Chana Masala, and of course Samosas.

Favorite Book

Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand — a great story about how government reaches too far and drives all the entrepreneurs away. Plus it has a great love story woven in and beautiful imagery of the era.

Jump from a plane or scuba dive with sharks?

Well, considering I have done both, I would say I am more apt to enjoying the company of sharks. However, being a student pilot also means I may need to do that jump again!

If you had one super power, what would it be?

To be invisible, I think it would be awesome to be able to observe things as they really are without the influence of your presence.

Favorite Childhood Memory

Running my 11’ Boston Whaler up along the banks of a canal in the Florida Keys, and doing so unintentionally, but it was such a James Bond moment, and a great laugh.

What’s your favorite insect?

Butterflies — the way they fly effortlessly and the myriad of patterns on their wings. As a kid my grandparents had a house in North Carolina and they had a big street light type of light on the grounds. Every morning I couldn’t wait to go and collect all of the moth and butterfly wings that had collected from the night before.

What name would you choose for your band?

Carpe Diem.

What is the weirdest thing you have eaten?

Gizzard from a Guinnea Fowl caught on a hunt with the Hadzabe Tribe in Tanzania.

If you could instantly be an expert in anything, what would it be?

Perpetual energy production that does not involve consuming and polluting the earth. It is our only home and we should treat it better than we do.

What do you want to do when you retire?

Travel, travel and more travel. It is a big world and I want to see it all!
