Spotlight on Manuel Casas | Client Relations Manager

Favorite Food

Mexican! I figure stick with what you know. I love Mole (chocolate gravy & chicken…delicious!), Chiles Rellenos, and Posole (stew with special spices, pork/chicken and hominy) in that order.

Favorite Book

The Intern by Sandeep Jauhar. It’s the story of his life as an intern in New York’s prestigious hospitals and his view of the secretive community of medicine.

Jump from a plane or scuba dive with sharks?

Well, I’m scared of heights and after being dragged out ¾ mile from an undertow in Mexico, I’m not too sure. I guess I would lean towards swimming with little bitty small sharks.

If you had one super power, what would it be?

Healing. I would love to wipe out all the hurt and pain in the world.

Favorite Childhood Memory

Playing soccer. I still remember scoring a goal from half field that won us the game!

What’s your favorite insect?

I don’t have a specific one, but if you have ever seen the movie A Bugs Life — I like all of those.

What name would you choose for your band?

Splinterz! This was a bad experience in my life, but was also something other kids thought was cool. At a playground I slid off a wooden log and in my attempt to break my fall scratched the log and embed splinters under my nails. Kids find the weirdest things cool.

What is the weirdest thing you have eaten?

Beef tongue would probably be the weirdest. If it’s cooked the right way, it’s very delicious!

If you could instantly be an expert in anything, what would it be?

Cooking. I love to cook, especially for other people.

What do you want to do when you retire?

Relax, travel and live off my lottery winnings in peace with my family and friends. (Hope I win soon!)
