The Online 401(k) Offers a Discount Brokerage Window Through Leading Discount Broker, Charles Schwab

SAN FRANCISCO (January 17, 2002) - Decimal, Inc. (www.theonline401k.com), the online retirement company, announced that it has added an optional employee self-directed brokerage account to its web-based 401(k) plan.

The self-directed brokerage account is provided by leading discount broker Charles Schwab and it is called PCRA™ (Personal Choice Retirement Account). Now available through The Online 401(k), the PCRA option allows employees to invest their 401(k) contributions in any mutual funds, stocks and bonds offered through Charles Schwab.

The Online 401(k)’s customers can decide to offer the PCRA in addition to The Online 401(k) pre-screened fund list. This serves all employees - employees who prefer an already narrowed down selection of mutual funds and employees who feel more comfortable with wider choices and doing their own research.

The feature is available to startup plans as well as conversion plans. There are no asset or employee size requirements to add the PCRA feature. The Employer pays an annual PCRA maintenance fee of $250 (for up to 25 employees) and the employees pay a one-time account-opening fee of $95.

“The addition of a self-directed brokerage account to The Online 401(k) solution is certainly an important stage in our product development spectrum”, explained Chad Parks, CFP, President and CEO of Decimal, Inc. “We are in tune with our market needs and we recognized early on that the advent of self-directed brokerage accounts in the small business 401(k) market was not a fad. It can be a compelling and effective enhancement to a 401(k) plan, given the right customer profile, of course.”
