Decimal’s New Service Options and Pricing Make 401(k) Plans Even More Affordable and Flexible

The Online 401(k) new service packages answer small businesses needs for tailored 401(k) solutions

SAN FRANCISCO (August 15, 2005) – Decimal, Inc., (www.theonline401k.com) the leading provider of full-service Web-based 401(k) plans for small and single-person businesses, today announced its new service options and pricing for its offering, The Online 401(k). The new service options and flat-fee pricing makes 401(k) plans more transparent and affordable, while simplifying what can be a confusing step for small businesses shopping for a 401(k) plan.

Currently, the majority of 401(k) providers offer fee structures that afford little flexibility and are based on line items, which can add up quickly or tend to promote expensive hidden asset-based fees. Most of these 401(k) providers' pricing structures are more appropriate for larger businesses that need a more customized solution.

The Online 401(k), which specializes in serving clients with less than 50 employees, analyzed the needs of small businesses and created two different service options and a flat-fee pricing structure based on the size of the company. In speaking with hundreds of small businesses every week, The Online 401(k) found that companies with under 10 employees are most interested in a low-cost, simple and honest product; while larger small businesses are interested in added choices such as a discount brokerage window.

Taking this feedback into consideration, The Online 401(k) created two distinct service options and pricing: the Value option and the Blue Chip option. Both are still delivering the flat fee, no hidden fee, no asset-based fee promises that have made The Online 401(k) successful with small businesses.

The Value option provides all the basic 401(k) services a business would need, including recordkeeping, a selection of 35+ multiple fund family funds, IRS form preparation and IRS-approved plan documents. This option starts at $145 a month with a one-time, set-up fee of $495. (Pricing is based on the number of employees).

The Blue Chip option offers all of the Value option services with enhanced services such as customization of the mutual fund list, a dynamic Investment Policy Statement, a discount brokerage account as well as a dedicated client relations representative. This option starts at $175 a month with a one-time set-up fee of $495. (Pricing is based on the number of employees).

Chad Parks, CFP® and CEO of Decimal says "We are confident that our new pricing structure is very transparent and easy to understand. We believe that it will make our solution even more competitive and in tune with small businesses’ unique needs: Some small businesses want a basic package that delivers all the features that you need(that's our Value option) and some small businesses want a more robust package with big-business features that you want (that's our Blue Chip option). Our new pricing structure delivers both.”
